Marcelo and I strolled across the Pont des Arts on a wonderful afternoon.
We walked from the Institut de France (some kind of academy??) towards the central square of the Louvre Palace.
The “Institut de France”.
The Pont des Arts is the famous love-lock bridge.
We snapped a photo of ourselves. :)
The central side entrance to the Louvre.
The central courtyard of the Louvre.
The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.
To commemorate Napoleon’s victories.
The Tuileries Gardens.
Was part of a Palace, but became a garden after the French Revolution.
A statute of Diana, Roman goddess.
Beautiful tree.
Lounging by a small fountain/pond.
I loved this shot.
The sun's shadows against the tree bark and foliage.

I also decided to make a little video of the bridge:

The pictures are really stunning. Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you.

DeleteI didn't remember Institut de France but no wonder it such a handsome building - home to 5 cultural and scientific worlds.
ReplyDeleteOh how interesting 🤔
DeleteGood video and how lovely it would be to walk along those pathways beside the water.
ReplyDeleteGood photos and nice to see them. The bridge is an interesting one, I watched the video on YouTube and thanks for the link.
I've answered the gardening question on my blog in comments...:)
Thanks Margaret. 👍
DeleteWhat a perfect day for a walk in Paris. The way you captured the sunlight in the Tuileries Gardens is just gorgeous. It's too bad the love locks are gone from the Pont des Arts, but the bridge still looks beautiful and historic.

Thanks. 👍
DeleteIt's good the love locks are gone. The weight was a danger for the Pont des Arts. And this beautiful bridge must not be spoiled by all these horrible love locks.
