I had a fabulous holiday in Rome.
But now I’m going through photos and organising my albums and whatnot. And of course people ask me about stuff.
The problem is that I start feeling a bit depressed and sad that the trip is over.
I am thinking about the next trip in September (perhaps Turkey, Hagia Sophia? or Madrid’s Prado? or just about anything else involving sunshine and ice-cream).
But all I want to do is go back to Rome and do it all again.
We also spent a fortune with weeks of travel, art, food and beaches ... so we have to plan for low cost trip somewhere.
So how do you get over the post holiday blues? 😣
I have exactly the opposite issue. My beloved arrived back from Japan this week, having had an amazing tourist view of the hot main island. But I was not happy being alone for most of that time in my cold and lonely house here in Melbourne :( So it is taking me a few days to get over my NON-holiday blues. Fortunately his photos are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to Madrid later this year, I will join you with pleasure :)
If you were to go back again it wouldn't feel exactly the same as the first time.
ReplyDeleteWe never got the post blues after travelling and we went every year all over Australia since the year 2000 for 3 to 4 months in our winter, however, we did miss a couple of years. Now we don't go at all and just don't miss going.
You are planning your next trip so that's a start of a new adventure.
Getting back into a routine is the best cure. You were full of dopamine while on holidays. Now you are having dopamine withdrawal. It is like detox from heroin addiction here
ReplyDeleteAre you not working ? Being home again can be such a warm feeling .and you have your love. You seem to travel a lot what many people cannot do. Going abroad is expensive, so just be happy to have visited all those wonderful places!

I don't go on holiday so don't get the post-holiday blues, just the ordinary ones.😂🤣
ReplyDeleteI haven’t gotten on too many trips like that in my lifetime, so I don’t have the same experience afterward.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful holiday is like visiting a magical world where only fun and pleasure exist, no work, no responsibilities, no worries, no pressures. Of course, coming back home to where all those realities wait is a let-down that results in post-holiday blues! There's no cure that I know of except retirement.
