St Paul’s Cathedral at night

I took this photo earlier this week around midnight.

Designed by Christopher Wren, and modelled on St Peter’s in Rome.

  1. It is truly a magnificent sight to see St. Paul’s Cathedral all lit up against the dark night sky. Christopher Wren certainly knew what he was doing when he took inspiration from Rome to build such a grand landmark. Taking a stroll at midnight is a fine way to appreciate the quiet beauty of a city like that.

  2. A magnificent structure indeed. It must be awe-inspiring to actually see it in person.

  3. Perfect timing. I was writing about London's Great Plague and Great Fire in today's blog post. But I had forgotten that was exactly when the original St Paul's Cathedral was destroyed.

  5. Beautiful! I didn't see it when I was in London. Not enough time! I always think of that famous photo of its dome shining through the smoke and tumult of the Blitz.
